Candle Care

To experience the full beauty of your Hay + Bear candle, we recommend following these simple care rituals:

Allow a full melt pool.

Burn your candle for a minimum of 2 hours — or until the entire surface has melted to the edges. This prevents tunnelling and ensures a clean, even burn for the life of your candle.

Limit each burn to 4 hours.

Burning for longer periods can cause the wick to become unstable. We know it’s hard to blow it out — but allowing your candle to cool between burns protects both the fragrance and performance.

Trim your wick before each use.

Keep the wick trimmed to approximately 5mm. This prevents excess soot and mushrooming, and helps maintain a steady, controlled flame.

Place with intention.

Always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, direct sunlight and flammable objects. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
